This presentation  addresses collaboration in the broader Chesapeake watershed from the perspective of one of its significant and very large sub-landscapes - the 3.4 million acre Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Heritage Area and Scenic Byway (JTHG). The JTHG illustrates how multiple interests and resource values can be combined to provide greater support for and drive conservation; it builds on broad public support for protecting Civil War battlefields, presidential homes, and viewsheds, all of which combine with other resources to build a landscape level approach. Through the Chesapeake LLC Partnership, JTHG partners also collaborate with similar landscape efforts across the watershed; the presentation addresses issues and strategies that make the broader efforts beneficial.
