This presentation will introduce LandScope Chesapeake – the shared conservation priority system for the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Developed in partnership by NatureServe, the National Park Service, US Geological Survey, and Chesapeake watershed states, LandScope Chesapeake supports collaborative conservation planning and decision-making. The website serves as a “go to” location for partners to access land conservation priorities from local to national scales representing ecological, historical, cultural, recreational, and other values. LandScope Chesapeake also offers an enhanced ability to inform resource management decisions by allowing users to track and report progress toward land protection goals.
This presentation will demonstrate recent enhancements to the LandScope Chesapeake interactive mapping platform, including new mobile-friendly tools for sharing your conservation success stories through maps, words, videos and pictures. Come and learn how this successful regional partnership has utilized the free and open LandScope America platform to advance collaborative land conservation in the Chesapeake Bay watershed and learn how similar efforts in other locations could do the same.
