This is a panel session follow up to the previous Western Governors Association (WGA) Crucial Habitat Assessment Tool (CHAT) development session.  In this session the moderator Gregg Servheen will begin by summing the previous session’s presentations and discussions on CHAT development by the WGA and the western states.  Following Gregg’s summary, each of the panel members will give a 10 minute presentation focused on answering the following questions: 1) the importance and role of the WGA CHAT initiative, 2) their use of and applicability of the state and regional CHATS, 3) examples of applications of CHATs or CHAT data as applied to projects and planning and mitigation, and 4) the long term and future needs of CHATs.   The presentations will all be made consecutively and then followed by discussion among the panel members, audience, and moderator
