The Landscape Conservation Cooperatives Council (the Council) was established in early 2014 to serve the LCC Network and its 22 separate landscapes that span from the mid Pacific Islands across all 50 states and six territories to transboundary regions of Canada and Mexico.  The Council is composed of key stakeholder groups within and outside the United States and represents public, tribal, pacific islander, non-governmental, and private interests.  The Council has recently adopted a draft charter which seeks to guide its efforts in helping to identify the ecological and institutional challenges faced by the LCC Network. In responding to these challenges, the Council will assist the LCC Network in achieving its collective goals; seeks to build a constituency of conservation partners, and seeks to help sustain the LCC initiative over the long haul.  This presentation will introduce the Council and its work to the broader landscape conservation community and begin a conversation within this community.
