Biographical Sketch: Shara Howie is a Program Manager for NatureServe’s Western Regional Office located in Boulder, Colorado. Shara has over 15 years of experience collaborating with U.S. and Canadian federal agencies, and other organizations, to integrate conservation data, methods and analyses into decision-making processes. Shara collaborates with NatureServe’s international network of member programs, located in every state in the U.S. and all Canadian provinces, to support the development and utilization of conservation data to meet local conservation needs. Shara has worked extensively with U.S. transportation agencies. Her work with transportation agencies includes leading multi-agency workshops on linking conservation and transportation planning, and contributing to research and technical guideline development to support improved conservation, mitigation and transportation project outcomes. In addition, Shara has experience developing and implementing training programs, and is currently developing a comprehensive training program for NatureServe.
