Biographical Sketch: Daniel Odess is the Chief Scientist - Cultural Resources for the National Park Service. An archaeologist with two decades experience in the Arctic, he works on a variety of complex management issues related to historic preservation, energy and infrastructure development, disaster response, climate change, and the management of cultural resources. He currently serves as the Historic Properties Specialist, advising the US Coast Guard on cultural resource issues related to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Response, and is coordinating the Department of Interior's effort to develop landscape-scale approaches to cultural resource management.
