Biographical Sketch:
Jonathan Jarosz is the Executive Director for Heart of the Lakes Center for Land Conservation Policy, and has been in that role since April of 2013. Jonathan is the organizations first internal hire and is the lead in Heart of the Lakes overall strategic direction and fund development. Prior to joining Heart of the Lakes, he served for six years as the Director for University Outreach at the University of Michigan – Flint. Jonathan has also worked as the Midwest Field Representative for the Land Trust Alliance and as a conservation planner on behalf of The Little Forks Conservancy and the Saginaw Bay Greenways Collaborative. Jonathan has worked as a conservation and outdoor recreation planner throughout Michigan, and the Great Lakes Region for the past sixteen years. Jonathan earned his graduate degree in Resource Development from Michigan State University; and holds professional certificates in Watershed Management, Geographic Information Systems, and Public Participation. Jonathan’s professional work has been focused on the development of collaborative solutions to community issues, with the dual purpose of public empowerment and capacity building for conservation and place-based organizations.
