Biographical Sketch: Michelle Passero is the Senior Climate Policy Advisor for The Nature Conservancy, California Chapter. She has over fifteen years of experience working in land conservation and environmental law and policy in the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Currently, Ms. Passero is leading TNC’s policy efforts to establish a comprehensive role for forests and natural systems as part of California’s landmark global warming law, The Global Warming Solutions Act. She has published several articles regarding legal issues associated with emerging greenhouse gas emissions trading markets and carbon rights. Ms. Passero holds an LL.M. in Sustainable International Development from the University of Washington and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco.
