Biographical Sketch:
James McIver is a Research Associate Professor at Oregon State University, stationed at the Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center in Union, Oregon. Trained as an Entomologist, Dr. McIver’s work focuses on understanding the foraging ecology and functional significance of ants in sagebrush steppe ecosystems. Dr. McIver also leads the SageSTEP study, a broad-scale, comprehensive research project that seeks to help land managers better understand the effects of treatments designed to restore sagebrush steppe ecosystems to a more native state. McIver has also been involved in research on management impacts of postfire logging and fuel reduction in dry forest ecosystems.
