Biographical Sketch: Mary is Chief of Planning and Environmental Compliance at Glacier National Park, a portion of Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. She began with the National Park Service at North Cascades National Park first as interpretive ranger, and later as a backcountry law enforcement ranger. She spent almost 10 years at the Denver Service Center, the planning design and construction office for the national park service, working on NPS projects across the country. She came to Glacier from Albuqueque in January 1995, in the middle of a snowstorm, to lead the General Management Plan for the park. Recognizing the connection with Waterton Lakes National Park, she initiated joint meetings between the parks to assure that the two management plans were compatible, complementary and reflected the collaborative relationship that existed between the two parks. In 2001 she assisted in forming the Crown Managers Partnership, joining the steering committee in 2008 and became the chair in 2011. Mary is married, has two children 23 and 17) and one dog.
