Biographical Sketch: Karl Flessa is a Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arizona. Dr. Flessa’s research focuses on how to use recent fossil record to address important issues in conservation biology and environmental change. In addition to his work on young fossils, Dr. Flessa examines the environmental and ecological impact of water policy in the western United States with a focus on the delta of the Colorado River. Dr. Flessa is the co-chief scientist of the Minute 319 Monitoring Program for the Colorado River Delta.
