Quartz Valley Indian Reservation

Biographical Sketch:
I am a member of Quartz Valley Indian Reservation and a student of Environmental Studies and Anthropology at New College of Florida. During the summer months of 2013 and 2014 I was fortunate to be involved with an exciting internship program focused on integrating traditional ecological knowledge with climate science, in order to create a more holistic approach to natural resource management and conservation in the Klamath Basin. While there were many internship opportunities that aligned with my educational and career goals, this program was specific to my heritage and afforded me the opportunity to become better acquainted with the peoples and landscape of my ancestry. After graduation I plan to obtain my doctoral degree in Environmental Anthropology, with research interests in traditional ecological knowledge, food and water security, and community-based conservation.
