Biographical Sketch: Ben Thatcher has served as the Assistant National Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCC) Coordinator for the past 3 years. In that role he supports the operations of the LCC Network and promotes the development and advancement of the science, partnerships, and practices necessary for conserving natural and cultural resources at landscape scales. Before that, he was a wildlife biologist at the Louisiana Ecological Services Field Office and then a biologist in the USFWS headquarters Endangered Species program working on endangered species listing and critical habitat actions and related policies. He has also worked as a field biologist for a variety of organizations, including the USACE (in Montana), the Florida Forest Service at Blackwater River State Forest, NC State University (at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park), and the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Ben has a B.S. in Biology from James Madison University, a M.S. in Biology from the University of Arkansas, and a Ph.D. in Natural Resources from the University of Tennessee.
