Biographical Sketch:
Bill Labich is the Regional Conservationist at Highstead and has 30 years experience in the fields of forest management, land use planning, environmental education, and regional land conservation. Bill works to catalyze collaborative conservation success in New England, including founding and coordinating the regional conservation partnership (RCP) Network and advancing a number of associated RCP initiatives on effective landowner outreach, conservation science dissemination to practitioners, and capital campaign training. He also co-coordinates the Fairfield County Regional Conservation Partnership in CT and the Hudson to Housatonic Conservation Initiative in NY/CT. Bill is the leading authority on RCPs and has written and spoken widely on this topic, including a recent article on his research about RCP elements of success, entitled Regional Conservation Partnerships in New England, published in the Journal of Forestry. Bill has a Masters in Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Maine at Orono.
