Biographical Sketch: Robert (Bob) Perschel is the Executive Director of the New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF) and was previously the Eastern Region Director for the Forest Guild, which he co-founded. Bob has 30 years experience as an environmental professional working on forestry, large landscape conservation and wilderness issues. He founded the Land Ethic Institute and has been Director of The Wilderness Society's Network of Wildlands Program, Land Ethic Program, Regional Director for Northeast Region, chair of The Northern Forest Alliance and of the Eastern Forest Partnership. He is co-author of Climate Change, Carbon, and the Forests of the Northeast and An Assessment of Biomass Harvesting Guidelines, and author of A Market Based Approach to Community Wood Energy: An Opportunity for Consulting Foresters. He has also guided the development of biomass retention and harvesting guidelines for the Northeast and Southeast. Bob has a master's degree in forestry from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a psychology degree from Yale College.
