Josephine Axt

Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Josephine Axt is the Chief of Planning at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Greater Los Angeles Area. In the past, Dr. Axt worked with the New York District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where she was a section chief in the Environmental Analysis Branch. Dr. Axt received her Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Public Policy from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Her research focused on the biogeochemical cycling of phosphorus in non-tidal palustrine forested wetlands and its relationship to non-point source pollution and eutrophication. She received a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship to continue her research at the National Environmental Research Institute in Denmark.
