Biographical Sketch: Dr. Beever received his Ph.D. at the University of Nevada, Reno in Dec. 1999, and is currently a Research Ecologist with the USGS' Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center in Bozeman, MT. He has specialized in: 1) understanding mechanisms of biological response to contemporary climate change, especially among animals; 2) disturbance ecology; and 3) design and analysis of monitoring across broad spatial extents and in protected areas. Through his research on American pikas during the last 21 years, he has addressed numerous questions in basic and applied ecology.
