Biographical Sketch:
Phil Huffman has been a conservation practitioner for 25+ years, with substantial experience in landscape-scale initiatives, partnerships, community-based conservation, public and private lands, and integration of natural/cultural/community heritage. He is currently Director of Landscape Conservation and Policy for The Nature Conservancy’s Vermont Chapter, where he’s been since 2007. For most of that time Phil has been one of the core leaders for the Staying Connected in the Northern Appalachians Initiative. He previously had extended stints as an independent conservation consultant and as a resource planner with the U.S. National Park Service. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Middlebury College, and joint Master’s degrees in Environmental Studies and Public and Private Management from Yale University.
