Biographical Sketch:
Chris Hilke is Senior Manager of the Climate Adaptation Program in the Northeast Regional Office for the National Wildlife Federation. Chris works with NWF affiliates, federal and state agencies, and other conservation partners across the Northeastern U.S. to expand regional capacity for climate adaptation planning. This includes working to integrate climate considerations into state and federal natural resource management efforts, and facilitating comprehensive assessment and planning activities to develop multi-benefit ecosystem-oriented climate adaptation strategies. Chris has significant experience working with partners to conduct climate vulnerability assessments for habitats and species at the local, state, and regional scales. Chris’s current focus is on engaging cross-sector partnerships to utilize vulnerability data to drive the identification of operationally feasible strategies that serve to reduce risk exposure and increase the resiliency and/or adaptive capacity of conservation targets. Chris is specifically interested in mechanisms that facilitate landscape-level conservation through the incorporation of regional priorities and coordinated project implementation. Chris has a B.A. in Environmental Law & Policy and an M.S. in Conservation Biology from Antioch New England Graduate School.
