Engagement of tribal and indigenous peoples in federal climate change initiatives

There is growing recognition that place-based traditional knowledge of tribal and indigenous peoples can provide valuable insights into impacts of climate change and adaptation strategies.  Yet federal climate initiatives are struggling to find the ways and means to substantively involve these culturally distinct communities.  This presentation will focus on important aspects of federal-tribal relationships and traditional knowledge to provide a foundation for collaboration with tribal and indigenous peoples in federal climate initiatives.
