Biographical Sketch: Liese Dart is the Special Assistant to the President, Jamie Williams. Liese Dart joined The Wilderness Society in January 2011 as a Wildlife and Clean Energy Policy Advisor in the policy department, where she focused on putting policies in place to support smart renewable energy and transmission development.
Prior to joining The Wilderness Society, Liese worked for a leading regional land conservation organization, the Piedmont Environmental Council based in Virginia. Liese also worked and resided for two years at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado.
Liese is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and the University of Wisconsin’s Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. She holds a master’s degree in Environment and Resources with a focus on environmental history as well as a Certificate in Energy Analysis and Policy from the University of Wisconsin.
Liese grew up in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, her favorite place. In her spare time she enjoys travel, cooking, gardening, running, riding her bike and painting.
