Biographical Sketch:
Jorge Ramírez is a professor and researcher in the Engineering Institute at the Autonomous University of Baja California. Dr. Ramírez is a Physical Oceanologist, hydrologist and GIS specialist, holding an Environmental Science PhD from the University of Alcalá, Spain and a Geophysics Exploration M.S. from CICESE. Dr. Ramírez specializes on issues of availability and management of surface and groundwater in semi-desert climates, with special emphasis on the sustainable use of water resources. Dr. Ramírez, furthermore, has dedicated over 10 years to hydrological research in the Delta and participated in the design and implementation of the Water Delivery Plan of Minute 319. He is responsible for the team of hydrologists collecting and analyzing water data from the pulse flow.
