Biographical Sketch:
Emily Bateson is the Conservation Director at Highstead and Coordinator of the New England Wildlands and Woodlands Initiative. In this capacity she also coordinates the New England Forest Policy Group and works to advance the growing regional conservation partnership (RCP) network. Emily has 30 years experience in regional land conservation, including leadership positions at the Conservation Law Foundation, Environment Northeast, and Sweet Water Trust. Emily was a founding board member of the Hubbard Brook Research Foundation, founding steering committee member of the Northern Forest Alliance, and co-founder and first executive director of the cross-border Northern Appalachian initiative, Two Countries, One Forest (2C1Forest) – a U.S./Canadian large landscape conservation collaborative. Emily has a B.A. from Yale University, and has written widely on science-based and landscape-scale conservation.
