Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Busby holds a PhD in Anthropology with specializations in archaeology and Native American studies with a focus on the Chesapeake. In addition to managing cultural, environmental, and land use planning programs for the U.S. Army with an emphasis on cross-program integration, she has served as Executive Assistant for Native American Affairs and archaeologist in the Delaware SHPO office. She possesses over 15 years of experience in the private sector and currently owns her own environmental, cultural resource, and heritage tourism consultation business. She serves on the Maryland Commission on Indian Affairs and the Advisory Council for the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. Building on her significant research on Chesapeake Indian settlements and landscapes she is leading the MCIA initiative to identify, preserve, and educate about indigenous landscapes.
