Emerging Coalitions for Metropolitan & Landscape Conservation

Thursday, October 23, 2014: 1:25 PM-2:55 PM
Horizon B (Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center)
While the Metropolitan Greenspaces Alliance currently encompasses nine regions across the US, many other metropolitan areas are taking steps to undertake metropolitan and large landscape conservation initiatives. These regions are building the necessary mapping, institutional, and collaborative frameworks to follow best practices of MGA coalitions that protect, restore, and enhance nature in cities and the metropolitan regions that surround them.  Panelists will describe these emerging metropolitan and large landscape conservation initiatives across the US. This is the second panel of four in the Metropolitan/Urban and Regional Conservation Initiatives track sponsored by The Conservation Fund.
